I would like to know if the 22 inches monitor HDMI could function as T.V. as well?

I bought my "Gateway" computer monitor in a discount electronics store through internet. It is working properly, but it has no booklet nor instruction, can any computer savvy help me with my question? Thanks so much.

1. If you wanted to use it as a TV you would need to get a TV tuner card for your computer. You could try using it as an hdtv if it has dvi or hdmi ports, but there is no way to tell if it will work or not.
2. the monitor can't work as tv but if you bought a hdtv then it could work as a pc monitor
3. HDMI is the preferred interface for digital television HD cable, satellite and FiOS set-top boxes. So the answer is yes, you can connect that monitor to a digital HD set-top box via HDMI and it will work as a TV. That's what I am doing with my HDMI-equipped monitor, and it works perfectly. The set-top HD box acts as the TV tuner and the monitor merely displays whatever image the set-top box is telling it to display.
