Is it bad to set a plasma lamp near computer monitors?
I just bought a very cheap ($25) plasma lamp from Fry's. This is the one http://www.tops-import.be/plasma.jpg It isn't very big. about 4.5 inches in diameter. I set it near my monitors on my computer table because it looked cool there, but I'm worried that it may affect the monitors or other electronic devices in a bad way. Can anyone who knows about this kind of stuff tell me if its unsafe or not?

- its unsafe
- As far as I know, there is 0 evidence that this would be unsafe.
- Your lamp is fine around electronics, even plasma tvs. Plasma is not like magnets; there is no force between plasma. Plasma is just a material that is used in electronics because it glows when an electric current is passed through it.
- no problem it's a plasma lamp.. not real plasma.. if it where you'd have to worry :)
- I think this should be fine! I've seen USB powered plasma lamps so surely they must be safe next to computer monitors!
